Touhou 11: Subterranean Animism/Koishi Komeiji
Non-Spell #1[edit | edit source]
Static Spell based on Koishi's position. Focus on dodging the rings coming from the side first, then the clumps of bullets arriving from the top.
Image "All Ancestors Standing Beside Your Bed"[edit | edit source]
Lasers are static, balls and mentos are aimed.
- Stay right below Koishi to avoid the first set of lasers
- When the mentos and balls start spawning, move directly down, stream to the side of the screen and restream back to the center of the screen.
- You should be at the center horizontally, hugging the bottom of the screen by the time Koishi finishes spawning the lasers coming from the bottom. Stay there for the first set of lasers (going up and back down), and then run up right under Koishi or slightly to the side on the edge of the enemy marker to avoid the 2nd set of lasers
- Repeat steps 2-3 until the spell is captured.
Non-Spell #2[edit | edit source]
Macro dodge the clumps of rice bullets. This is easier to dodge on the right side of the screen.
Image "Danmaku Paranoia"[edit | edit source]
Sets of Mentos aimed at and away from you, and kunais that spawn in a circle around you.
Don't move until the mentos are about to hit you, then move to the side by half the size of the mentos, to keep the aiming straight. If done correctly, you won't have to move for a couple waves until the next aimed mentos reaches you.
Non-Spell #3[edit | edit source]
Macro dodge the clumps of jelly-beans. Unlike Non2, this is easier to dodge on the left side of the screen.
Instinct "Release of the Id"[edit | edit source]
Intersecting Heart winders that approach at an angle, heading downwards.
Focus on dodging each winder one at a time, using horizontal movement and staying 1/4 above the bottom of the screen. It's easier to dodge if you move in the same direction as the winder you are avoiding. i.e. if you are focusing on a winder that's moving diagonally towards the right, move right under one of the heart gaps, and move left for the winder moving in the opposite direction.
Non-Spell #4[edit | edit source]
Static pattern similar to Non1, but the bullets are more scattered. Dodge this the same way as Non1.
Suppression "Super-Ego"[edit | edit source]
Similar to Release of the Id, but the hearts move upwards. Dodge this in the same way, avoiding each winder one at a time.
Non-Spell #5[edit | edit source]
Similar to Non2, dodge the same way.
Response "Youkai Polygraph"[edit | edit source]
Survival spellcard
The shard bullets spawn where the lasers based on how far you are from Koishi, the lasers spin in a circle counterclockwise, starting slow getting faster in the middle and at the end.
Spin this in a circle, moving slowly inwards or outwards. When you run out of space, move unfocused towards the inside/outside of the circle to create a large gap to pass through. While the spell is starting, wait a bit after creating a gap so that there is space to move after the gap.
Non-Spell #6[edit | edit source]
Similar to non3, but the waves of jellybeans are longer, so some unfocused movement may be necessary to reach the right gaps.
Unconscious "Rorschach in Danmaku"[edit | edit source]
Theoretically a static pattern based on Koishi's position, but the locations of the gaps may differ based on how high Koishi is on the screen.
It's usually easier to slightly off center from Koishi, using vertical movement to cross each gap.
One possible route involves dodging on the right side of the screen, having Koishi move towards the right, then when the purple and green waves arrive at the same time, move to the left where the gaps are larger. Micro each gap until the spell is over.
If you are just aiming to 1cc, use a bomb or 2 to clear the screen since the bullets take a long time to reach you.
Non-Spell #7[edit | edit source]
Mentos are aimed, rows of rice bullets are anti-aimed, forming a column between you and Koishi to dodge the Mentos. POCing the items from the previous spell is unsafe, as the aiming of the pattern will be messed up. Otherwise, dodge the aimed mentos within the large gap.
Rekindled "The Embers of Love"[edit | edit source]
Hearts are aimed at you, then shot towards the sides of Koishi with a slight downward angle. A trail of fire follows each heart, and the Heart bullets bounce at the edges of the screen a certain amount of times. Here are some tricks to make this spell consistent
- Direct the Hearts directly down by staying under Koishi
- Keep Koishi near the center of the screen by staying slightly towards the center of the screen relative to Koishi
- Use vertical movement to dodge the hearts approaching from the sides
By doing this, each heart moves either near horizontally or vertically, making the pattern easy to dodge.
Non-Spell #8[edit | edit source]
Similar to Non7, but with more rice bullets. Again, POCing the items is dangerous.
Depth "Genetics of the Unconscious"[edit | edit source]
Koishi's moves in an hourglass like pattern, sitting still at one corner of the screen before moving to the next section. However, after a whirl sfx plays, Koishi will move to your position at the time the sfx plays instead. Her movement is as follows starting from the center of the screen:
Bottom-left, Top-left, Bottom-right, Top-right, YOU, Bottom-left, Top-right, Top-left, Bottom-right, YOU
This spell is completely static outside of the times when Koishi moves towards you, so a route can be taken.
For high power shot types (4P ReimuA), here is a possible route that can cap the spell by the 2nd YOU jump.
- Starting from the center follow Koishi as she moves towards the bottom left
- Before Koishi hits the bottom of the screen move to the bottom right corner of the screen.
- Dodge the bullets arriving from the left, moving towards the center if possible
- Try to catch Koishi as she moves towards the bottom-right, then escape to the left before she reaches the bottom
- Move up towards the top-left to misdirect Koishi to the top left of the screen
- After midirecting, move down to the bottom-left and stay there until just before Koishi hits the bottom-left
- Move to the bottom-right and stay there when Koishi is at the top-right
- Follow Koishi as she moves to the top-left, then follow her back when she moves to the bottom-right
- Stay under Koishi even as she is moving towards you. If you have enough DPS, the spell will end before she reaches you
If you are at low power or are missing damage, you will have to spin this clockwise around the edges of the screen, similar to Byakuren non4. If you are at really low power or are not confident in the route at 1cc level, timing this pattern out may be easier at the cost of a life piece.
"Philosophy of a Hated Person"[edit | edit source]
Another survival spell, with 3 phases. The roses spawn around Koishi, but her movement depends between each phase.
After dodging the bubbles, move up towards the top of the screen. The roses will not reach the top right quadrant of the screen, but you should be at the top left corner by the end of the blue phase.
The yellow phase has diagonal sets of 4 bullets moving, one set moving left, one set moving up. The roses' movement depends on where you are at the end of phase 1. If you end the phase 1 at the top left of the screen the roses will move in the shape of a U from the top left to the top right and back to the top left. Stay near the top middle of the screen watching out for both waves arriving from the right and from below.
The red phase has lines of balls moving from right to left and bottom to top, and Koishi moves clockwise around the screen. since each line moves orthogonally, you can dash directly vertically or horizontally after aligning yourself with a gap in the line. Also, since the roses cannot reach the center of each square, you can follow the movement of the lines diagonally towards the top left until you hit a wall. Using these, you can move in a right triangle repeating these steps
- Align yourself with the gap to the right. After the rose passes to the right of you, dash right crossing 2 lines
- Immediately after, align yourself again with a gap below you and dash down, crossing 2 lines
- Follow the pattern diagonally up left until the the roses pass you on the right
Make sure that you aren't in the center of the rose pattern when the spell ends or you will be tackled by Koishi.
"Subterranean Rose"[edit | edit source]
Final spell with 4 phases. Unlike every other spell with phases, this spell will not transition to the next phase with time, so it is possible to pacifist dodge a single phase for the duration of the entire spell. If you are not confident on the later phases, timing out this spell at phase 1 may be preferable.
In all 4 phases, Koishi shoots alternating red and blue rings, and the roses spin within each ring based on the phase.
In the first phase, dash through the first ring before the roses arrive, wait out the next rose moving downwards with the ring, then dash through the next ring, 3 times, before waiting out a ring, basically crossing 3 waves and wait 1 wave for each cycle.
In the second phase, stay 1/4 from the bottom of the screen to avoid the roses, moving slightly down with each wave.
In the third phase, do the same thing as the first phase, crossing 3 waves and waiting out 1 wave. There is less time to cross a ring compared to the first phase.
In the fourth and final phase, you have to be inside the right colored ring, between the bullets when the roses pass you. You should be in the blue ring for the first wave, then in the red ring, alternating colors each wave. You will have to cross multiple rings between each wave, i.e. stay in the bottommost blue ring for the first wave, move up to the 3rd red ring in the even waves, and move up to the 2nd blue ring in odd waves.
