Touhou 9.5: Long Distance Aiming

From The Danmaku Gameplay Wiki

This page shows comparisons of how much you can afford to aim your photo in Shoot the Bullet without losing the Two Shot and getting 2.0 Boss Shot and what this looks like in a more survival-oriented context that is only concerned with getting the boss in the photo.

Scoring Example 1

Aya is being positioned at a 45 degree angle relative to the boss. From there Aya is aiming up-right for 11 frames to get 2.0 Boss Shot and doesn't lose the Two Shot. Aiming for more frames would lose you the Two Shot.

Scoring Example 2

Aya is being positioned to the left of boss perpendicularly. From there Aya is aiming to the right for 9 frames to get 2.0 Boss Shot and doesn't lose the Two Shot. Aiming for more frames would lose you the Two Shot.

Scoring Example 3

Aya is being positioned at a roughly 35 degree angle from the left relative to the boss. From there Aya is aiming up-right for 11 frames and then aiming to the right for 4 frames (15 frames total) to get 2.0 Boss Shot and doesn't lose the Two Shot.

Survival Example 1

When you can't get close enough to the boss or want to play safe (or play purely for survival), staying to the left or right of the boss perpendicularly is a very effective way to reach the boss with your photo while deleting bullets in front of you and without having to maximize your zoom frames.

Survival Example 2

When you can't get close enough to the boss or want to play safe (or play purely for survival), staying at a 45 degree angle is a very effective way to reach the boss with your photo while deleting bullets in front of you and without having to maximize your zoom frames.
